Our ‘Switch’ emergency releases are made from finest grade solid brass and are hand finished in all the standard Joseph Giles finishes. They are designed to provide emergency access into a locked bathroom (privacy lock) and are used in conjunction with a thumb turn.

Our emergency releases are made from finest grade solid brass and are hand-finished in all the emergency releases standard Joseph Giles finishes. Emergency releases are used in conjunction with a privacy lock &amp; a thumb turn (each supplied separately) and are usually installed on a hinged WC/bathroom door. An emergency release is installed on the outside of the door and can be used in the event of an emergency to open the door. A thumb turn is fitted to the inside of a WC door and is twisted clockwise to engage a privacy lock and anti-clockwise to disengage a privacy lock, They are supplied as single items with an inner rose, a decorative cover rose, and the necessary fixings.

Switch Release

Crafted from solid brass, our Switch emergency release is inspired by Switch House, an extension to the world-famous Tate Modern museum in Bankside which is designed by architects Herzog &amp; De Meuron. Ever since its inception, we have admired this incredible structure and its extraordinary latticed brickwork, which proudly pierce the London skyline. We have carefully reflected the distinct, folded, angular lines of the building in the design of the Switch release and even in the rose. Please note, this product is made to order and quantity discounts are available.

Installed on the inside wall of a shelf unit and to be push fitted into a 5mm diameter hole. These items are supplied singularly and available in all of our signature finishes.&nbsp;

The Switch door lever handles are made from the finest grade solid brass and are carefully hand-finished in all the standard Joseph Giles finishes. All our lever handles come with a 10-year mechanical guarantee and are supplied with the unique JG sprung bearing grip tight inner roses. *Pair of lever handles includes:<ul><li>One pair of lever handles (two pieces, 1 left-handed and 1 right-handed)</li><li>One pair of decorative cover roses (four pieces, two plates which fix to the door, and two covers)</li><li>One pair of unique JG sprung bearing grip tight inner roses** (two pieces, 1 left-handed and 1 right-handed)</li><li>One set of fixings for lever handles which include screws, bolt through fixings, washers, grub screws, allen key, and an 8mm (5/16) spindle to suit doors up to 54mm (2.12”) thick</li></ul> *Levers are also available as single handles (left-handed or right-handed).** Other types of JG inner roses are available for specialist applications, see the <a href="https://jg-staging.enapps-ecommerce.co.uk/brochures/#roses" target="_blank">'</a><a href="https://www.josephgiles.com/brochures/#roses" target="_blank">Rose mechanism booklet'</a>, however, we strongly recommend sprung bearing grip tight rose because of its incredible performance.
