This solid brass surface skeleton bolt is usually fitted vertically onto the face of a door or window. It secures the slave leaf of a double door set to enable the main leaf to latch or lock into the slave leaf. Often used in conjunction with espagnolette bolts that have been fitted on to the main leaf. The bolt is thrown and retracted by operating the knob. We usually recommend that two bolts are fitted per leaf, one at the top of the door and one at the bottom.
If you're wondering which finish type to select, here's the key difference: living finishes gently patinate and change over time, ageing gracefully, whilst ageless finishes are either naturally unchanging, or boast a protective ceramic coating which mean the finish stays consistent.
