10 Hill Road - Double Doors with Fonteyn Lever (LV1045) in Brushed Brass Waxed - BBW

Ironmongery can be a minefield to navigate, with a huge range of different functionalities available, depending on your requirements. Here’s a quick overview of the different types of rose options we offer for lever handles and door knobs, and the applications they have been designed for.

Sprung Bearing Rose (SPBEARING)

Stainless steel roses with springing mechanism and sealed ball bearings, for optimum performance
  • Designed for lever handles

  • Recessed into the door, suitable for a minimum door thickness of 40mm

  • For use with a handle on both sides of the door, operating a latch

  • Guarantees smooth operation and a perfectly horizontal lever

  • Sprung Bearing Rose – Half Spindle to Operate (HSTO-SPBEARING)

o   A version of the sprung bearing rose with a TIG welded spindle

    o   Recessed into the door

o   Designed to operate a latch when a lever handle is only fitted to one side of the door

Bearing Rose (BEARING)

Stainless steel roses with sealed ball bearings, for optimum performance
  • Designed for door knobs

  • Recessed into the door, suitable for a minimum door thickness of 35mm

  • For use with a door knob on both sides of the door, operating a latch

  • Guarantees smooth operation, with no rattle

  • Bearing Rose – Half Spindle to Operate (HSTO-BEARING)

o   A version of the bearing rose with a TIG welded spindle

    o   Recessed into the door

o   Designed to operate a latch when a door knob is only fitted to one side of the door

Basic Rose (BASIC)

Flat, surface-mounted aluminium rose plate
  • For use with lever handles or door knobs

  • May need to be used where it is not possible to use a recessed rose mechanism – for example, on thin frame metal doors

  • Not recommended for areas where aesthetics and high performance are important, as operation is heavily reliant on latch springing and quality of installation.

Fixed Rose (FIXED)

Stainless steel rose with TIG welded fixed spindle
  • For use with lever handles or door knobs

  • Designed for application when the handle is required to be used in a push/pull operation, rather than to operate a latch

  • Suitable for a minimum door thickness of 25mm
